Biography .

Hika Z. Lamu is a Law Clerk and Firm Manager at Gabisa Law Firm, distinguished by a wealth of legal expertise and a career marked by high-level case administration and management. Hika’s professional journey includes a notable tenure as Chief Justice in Oromia region's District Court and as a Lecturer in Law in Ethiopia, where he taught property law, law of traders and business organizations, private international law (conflict laws), Ethiopian tort law, and non-profit law. His experience on the bench and in academia has endowed him with a comprehensive and advanced understanding of multinational legal systems.

Prior to joining Gabisa Law Firm, Hika demonstrated profound commitment, organizational leadership, and excellence in legal writing, editing, and reviewing international legal briefs on behalf of the Oromo Center for Civil and Political Rights, a Washington D.C-based advocacy organization. Additionally, Mr. Lamu recently served as a Legal Researcher at K&L Gates Law Firm in Washington D.C, where he contributed to the practice of transnational and international law, particularly in the areas of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and humanitarian advocacy.

At Gabisa Law Firm, Hika leverages his extensive experience and excellence in international legal experience and institutional leadership to manage firm operations and provide strategic assistance on matters related to international trade and investment within Gabisa Law Firm's International Law Working Group. Mr. Lamu holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), an LL.M in Business Law from Addis Ababa University, and an LL.M in International Trade and Investment Law from American University Washington College of Law, where he was granted a prestigious fellowship and scholarship, showcasing his strong academic foundation in law and management.
